Nardwuar

Nardwuar the Human Serviette photographed for a Georgia Straight cover story. Anybody who knows Nardwuar knows he's infatuated with Canadian punk history so we decided it would be fitting to recreate the Subhumans' Incorrect Thoughts LP cover circa 1978. The most difficult part of pulling the shoot together was finding the original style bus (the last Brill trolley bus was taken out of BC Transit/Translink operation in 1981) but one was finally tracked down in the back of the BC Transit Society garage. Randy Iwata from Mint Records designed these great retro-looking bus ads for the shoot and a handful of people made the trek to the Surrey garage from Vancouver to pose as bus passengers. Noteables were Bev Davies (who photographed many punk bands of that time, including the Subhumans) and Angus MacIntyre, a bus driver who came to know Subhumans' singer Wimpy Roy as a regular passenger on his route.
